The Sawyers go to York!

York holds a special place in my heart as the husband and I enjoyed some lovely romantic trips there when we were 'courting' as my Mamma would say.

We have put off taking the boys in the past as we thought they were a bit young to enjoy what York has to offer. This weekend however we decided to take them on a Easter mini break to the city...

We started with a cruise on the river Ouse! Freddie was mostly fascinated by a bag of dolly mixtures!

Here are the boys being their usual boystrous selves while I cling on to Freddie in order to prevent a man overboard situation.

Daddy, Samuel and Christoph (Samuel's new best friend) in front of the Minster

Freddie less excited by the wonder that is the Minster!

The peace and tranquility of the museum gardens, and then.......

Stick em up tourists! I blame the violence and skeletons of the Jorvic museum. Not sure the       Vikings had guns and pirate swords though?

  Surrounded by boys.

Samuel's photography skills- good work.

'Freddie cam' - this is how the little man must see the world. Scary.

                                                                TROUBLE

Admiring the royal trains at he National Railway Museum.

Train spotting with Daddy.

      Mahoosive train, the Chinese Engine.

The Bullet train.

     ALL ABOARD!

A walk on the Wall

A walk down the Shambles

Sorry for vast amount of photos- lots to choose from!

York was amazing and we are definitely going to head back again later this year.
If nothing else we must return to the Jorvic to see the thing that created the most interest and excitement with the boys....a preserved Viking poo. Yep, an old turd turned out to be highly amusing. What can I say, boys will be boys (Jon was laughing the most).
