The Olympic torch comes to town!

We were nearly put off by the ridiculously heavy rain showers we have had today but decided to risk it and go see the Olympic torch on its way through West Bridgford.

The sun came out, the crowds gathered and it was great!

This is one of the torch bearers waiting for the tranfer of the flame

Very loud cheers as the the torch bearer heads down Radcliffe road
Here is the flame being transferred from one torch to another

The Sawyer household is definitely in the spirit for the Olympics... Come on TEAM GB!

Samuel and Freddie Sawyer....Future Olympic superstars!!

Sunday 24th June 2012

Wireless has officially decided to give up in the Sawyer household. So after a bit of a move around we have managed to set the computer up elsewhere so it can be plugged into the internet!

It has been a busy week!

Samuel celebrated his fourth birthday on Tuesday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GORGEOUS BIG LAD!

He had a fun filled day. He was at preschool in the morning and they had a little party for him there with a cake. Then we had a party at home for him in the afternoon with some of his friends, some party games and lots of food! The sun was shining thankfully so the kids (and adults) enjoyed being out on the garden.

The kids entertaining themselves!

Today we have enjoyed a fun filled day at Twinlakes! We have never been but Heart Link had organised a trip that the families affected by congenital heart disease could attend so we seized the opportunity!

Samuel has been feeling a bit tired these last couple of days (most likely a delayed reaction to such a hectic birthday week) so I was slightly concerned that it would be a long day! However, there is so much to do there we all really enjoyed it. We were there for nearly seven hours and never once got bored!

Not sure who enjoyed the Buffalo ride more, me or Samuel!
Spinning Acorns must have been good because they stayed on for another go!
My three boys!

This expression looks familiar. Freddie has started scrunching up his nose just like Samuel did!
Not competitive but Samuel was quite upset that there was another horse in front of us

"I'll definitely beat Samuel at Snakes and Ladders with this dice!"
Hmmmm there are no words.

Wednesday 20th June 2012

Freddie has officially cut his first tooth!
As I was feeding him today I all of a sudden noticed that two bottom teeth had broken through. That explains all the drool!

I haven't 'blogged' for a while because our internet isn't working properly at home. Until it is back up and running I'll keep it short and sweet!

He's a happy chappy at the moment (despite the bronchilitis symptoms returning). He's very active and doesn't like to sit still for very long!
He has decided sleeping through the night is boring and we haven't had an unbroken night now for over a week which is rather tiring!

Samuel turned four years old yesterday!
We had a party for him at home in the afternoon and he was ridiculously spoilt with gifts as usual. It has to be said it appears his favourite present is 'Insectasaurus' which was from Freddie. He keeps giving him big cuddles and saying thank you for it. Cute!

When the good people at Virgin Media have sorted our t'internet out I will post some lovely recent pics.

Until then

A right royal occasion!

Today was a special day. I took the boys to see the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who were visiting our home city of Nottingham.
I love the Royals and taking the boys to see the Queen was not to be missed!

We jumped on the bus, flags in hand and headed for the Market Square, along with about thirty thousand other people! It was a great atmosphere, with a military band playing outside of the Council House.

It was hard work on my own with Samuel on my hip and Freddie in his buggy but I managed to get a few pictures. We couldn't see the Queen as she walked through the square towards the council house but did see William and Kate as they walked up the steps. We then saw the Queen waving from the balcony as the band played the National Anthem. It was fab!

Samuel was already getting into the spirit of things at the bus stop!

It was wonderful to see how many people had turned up!

The band setting the atmosphere of the occasion.

The three of us squeezed in as close as we could get.

The big screen showing the Queen arriving on the Market Square.
There was a loud cheer when handsome Prince William started greeting the crowd.
Not a great photo but they're there!

Samuel enjoying a well deserved Happy Meal after the event.

A slightly unpatriotic Freddie chewing on a Union Jack! Cheeky Boy!

First time the little guy has been out of his buggy on a bus.

These royal events take their toll!

Monday 11th June 2012

Freddie's had a bit of a rough few days.
We were at the doctors on Friday and Freddie was diagnosed with having bronchilitis again. The doctor prescribed antibiotics for him and an inhaler and spacer with mask to use it.
He was very unsettled for a few days, agitated and not sleeping well at all. He then developed a high temperature on Friday too.
We hit the low point on Saturday when Freddie spent the whole day moaning and crying. We tried everything to console him but he was really unhappy. However, Saturday night after a good dose of nurofen and having been on his antibiotics for 24 hours he slept much better.
He's now much better and appears to be returning to top form.

The boys enjoying a breakfast time cuddle
He seems to have enjoyed having some energy back today and has been very excitable. I'm noticing he's starting to try and put his arms up to me when I go to pick him up and he's been so close to rolling from his back to his tummy.

My gorgeous blue eyed boy

Wednesday 6th June 2012

It has been a very busy Jubilee celebrating weekend!
Freddie and Samuel have both been little stars as always but Freddie has come out of all the celebrations with a cold and is a bit under the weather at the moment.
We have seen a big change in the little guy over the last couple of weeks. He is much more interested in his toys and is reaching out for things with both hands much more. He can sit unaided by himself and play which is lovely to see.

The boys spent the Queens Diamond Jubilee weekend with family and friends.
On Saturday Samuel was at Mamma and Grandpops house in the morning and helped them put up all of their Union Jack flags, bunting and balloons.
On Sunday we spent the day in Barnsley, celebrating Harrison's 1st birthday and spending time with Nanan and Grandad. We got to see a bit of the Flotilla on the tv.
On Monday we had a jubilee tea at Mamma and Grandpops house which was lovely. Samuel and Freddie's Uncle Dint turns 30 this week so it was a double celebration! There was lots of yummy food and the sun came out so lots of playing on the garden. Zachary performed his party trick of nabbing Freddie's dummy to the amusement of everyone  (except Freddie's who just sat looking confused!)
On Tuesday we had a lovely morning with the Frost family at Highfields. A nice play on the park, walk round the lake and an ice cream to top it off!

Red, white and blue!!
Zachary and his Daddy enjoying the fun.
Fun on the park!
