Roly Poly!

Freddie has officially rolled from his front to his back by himself! This occurred yesterday and it didn't appear to be a fluke as he kept showing off and flipping onto his back when we put him on his tum!
Today however he has been seriously bad tempered (I can see white lumps under his gums so I think teeth are not far off) and decidedly refused to perform like a circus monkey when I politely asked him to do it again. How rude.

I took the little man to be weighed last Thursday and he came in at nineteen pounds and two ounces! What a chunky monkey. He's still climbing up the centile graph and has crept above the seventy-fifth line for his corrected age.

Here's the big guy snoozing in the sunshine today on the park.

                                                          Fun on the big swing!

Here's a pic of 'Spider Pirate' just after he did his sponsored walk for charity with pre-school.
You have officially been 'webbed'

My Daddy's big birthday!!

Freddie's Daddy has officially joined the big FOUR ZERO club!

Despite being a bit under the weather Freddie has just helped celebrate his Daddy's big birthday at a weekend away in North Yorkshire.

The Sawyer and Dear families came together to help celebrate this special occasion and we all had a fun-filled time!

Here is a picture of the boys with their birthday t-shirts on that said..."It's my Dad's big Birthday, 40 Years Young." And on the back the shirts said.."Don't worry Dad we might have left home by the time you are 70!"

This is his Barnsley inspired birthday cake which went down a treat.

We arrived at the cottage Friday lunch time and Jon was very confused about the size of the place given he thought it was just for the four of us. We had a quick look at the games room, the hot tub, the park and the large selection of bedrooms and just as he was starting to get excited about the prospect of all that space to ourselves the rabble started showing up and the chaos began!

The weekend was filled with... trips to the seaside, playing on the beach, flying kites, Samuel learning to swim under water in the hot tub, table tennis, sharks and jelly fish, pool, baby food, swinging like Tarzan, fish and chips, Lightening McQueen pairs game, smelly nappies, BBQ, crazy golf, Robin Hoods Bay, emotional birthday speeches, acting like crazy people on a train ride, very competitive games of trivial pursuit and more alcohol than I care to remember. Not in that order! As you can see it was a busy weekend.

Having everyone together was wonderful and the best way to celebrate Jon's birthday. What fantastic memories!

I leave you with this picture of Freddie enjoying country life just having had his milky in front of the log fire. It's a hard life.

Tuesday 17th April 2012

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I have written about what Freddie has been up to. Its been a busy few weeks with Easter and the school holidays. Come to think of it every week is busy with two cheeky monkeys to look after!

Freddie is doing great, he's such a little character. He's sitting with very little support now and is trying to roll over but hasn't quite got there - wont be long I don't think! We are eager to see a teggy tooth or two start poking through because he keeps having bouts of major teething. Buckets of drool, rosey cheeks and biting everything he possibly can are the typical symptoms.

He's eating very well and his favourite at the moment seems to be his morning porridge with banana. Definitely takes after his brother on that one!

We had a great Easter. The Easter Bunny hid lots of chocolate eggs for Samuel to find and even a 'Freddo Frog' one from his brother which he was quite excited about.

We had a lovely day with the Dear clan on Good Friday. Samuel loves his brother and his cousin 'with all his heart' as he keeps telling us.

Freddie's trying his best to catch up size-wise with his cousin. Watch out, these two cheeky monkeys are going to be trouble when they're toddling!

Freddie is in size 6-9 month t-shirts and vests but still size 3-6 month trousers. The doctor has told us he is bigger than average and going to be a big lad but he seems to be longer in the body rather than all legs like his brother!
He has started enjoying going in his walker but his feet don't touch the floor yet and he pushes his legs back which makes him look like he's doing a Superman impression!

Freddie trying out his papoose for the first time...

As you can see he's coming on leaps and bounds. Our little star! We had the good news last week that the bigger monkey man got into the primary school we wanted. We're really pleased but I was quite emotional because it made reality hit - he's starting school in five months!  Silly Mummy!

Friday 6 April 2012

I'm not sure that this is going to work but I hope it does. Freddie has all of a sudden found lots of new noises...

Check out the mixed emotions!

Friday 6th April 2012

I hope everyone is enjoying Good Friday and has some nice chocolatey plans for the weekend.

Freddie had an appointment at the Children's Development Centre at Nottingham City Hospital on Thursday.
It started with a weigh-in......drum roll please.....Freddie now weighs eighteen pounds three!
The doctor commented that Freddie is going to be a big boy and that he is averaging around the seventy-fifth centile lines on the growth chart.
For his actual age Freddie is currently hovering around the fiftieth centile for both his weight and his height. This means he is of average size for his age. However, given he was premature the professionals still look at his corrected age on the charts. He is on the seventy-fifth for his weight and the ninety-first for his length! So he's going to give his big brother a run for his money size wise.

The appointment didn't last long (which we always take as a good sign) partly this was due to Freddie's sore gums making him rather impatient but also because generally the doctor seemed pleased with how he is getting on.
Freddie is holding his head very well and sitting up with less support. He is also doing much better on his tummy and moves his knees and legs underneath him when he starts getting frustrated.
The doctor felt strong pulses in his legs which is a good sign that his heart is doing what it should!

Generally is was positive stuff and the Doctor said it is obvious Freddie's heart issues are not affecting his development.

Happy Easter Everyone! xx
