Monday 29th June 2015

It's not long until Freddie starts school. We were very relieved when we found out that he has got a place at the same school as his big bro but at the same time the confirmation hit a bit of a nerve with me. Time has gone very quickly and it feels like a whole new chapter of parenthood is going to begin when both our boys are at school every day.

I have already taken on more work and so I will be plenty busy enough but it is just the prospect of no longer having those spontaneous days with either of them when places aren't very busy because it's term time.

We've been having a few issues with Freddie's temper recently. Out and about and when with other people he is usually perfectly fine. His behaviour is usually very good and it is difficult to explain what the problem is...

He's angry.

We're not sure what makes him angry but sometimes he is just so angry that a red mist descends and there is no pulling him out of it.

His anger mostly comes out when we are at home and something tips him over the edge e.g. no batteries in his music player...duck and cover people!

This anger was being directed our way during pre-school drops but fingers crossed the past few weeks have seen an improvement in the separation. I'm really hoping this continues as otherwise the daily school run come September could be a nightmare.

Anyhoo we have had a little bit of advice about how to deal with tantrums and are trying a few new Super Nanny type methods so we'll see if they help.

Here are some pics of some recent fun days out...

Samuel's Birthday Celebrations

So the biggest Sawyer boy turned seven yesterday. Seven! Where did that time go?
He was at school on his birthday so we have had his party today.
We had a treasure hunt around Rushcliffe Country Park and here are a few pics...

What a fantastic group, all of the children were very well behaved

Not that we are competitive or anything but there were boo's and shouts of "losesr" to the rival teams!

Very keen to find the clues!

A well earned break

This big lad makes us proud every single day

Only a short break then we were off again

Having fun

No clues in here

But we'll look anyway

Food time

Can't recommend the rangers hut at Rushcliffe Country Park enough for a party. Great value and very helpful rangers!

Happy Camping!

We've had our first camping trip as a family of four!

We didn't venture far from home and went to Thornton's Holt in Stragglethorpe. About ten mins away from home!
Plenty of footy

A couple of tea towels and some imagination and Mamma and Freddie became Batman and Robin!

No horses were hurt during the cooking of this BBQ!

Camping wouldn't be the same without a kebab!

This big lad was a superstar and helped with the tent.

The little lad was more inclined to roll around in the tent!
