Freddie's first trip to the farm...oh and also some giant Octonauts!

We took the boys to White Post Farm on Saturday to enjoy all the delights but more importantly to have breakfast with the Octonauts!!!

We had a great time...

Samuel was very excited about meeting the giant Captain Barnacles and Kwazi.....Freddie on the other hand was not so impressed

Not sure you can see on this photo but he was crying! To be fair Kwazi was a little bit intimidating, ha!

He was more impressed however by the chickens.

Both boys have got colds at the mo unfortunately but other than that all is well. Freddie is doing great with his feeding and is enjoying three meals a day as well as his milk.
We have got an appointment at the children's development centre next week so we're looking forward to talking to the doctor about his progress.

I leave you with a picture of the next Formula One superstar...

Not sure this dude stands a chance...

Heart Link

Freddie's story has featured in the latest 'Heart Link' newsletter.

Heart Link is the East Midlands charity which supports children affected by congenital heart disorders. Click on the link to see their website for more info.

It's hard to believe but the tiny baby having his bottle is Freddie!

I wrote Freddie's story for the newsletter when he'd only been home from Glenfield for about eight weeks. He's come on leaps and bounds since then but its lovely to see his story in the charity's letter. We're pleased that members of the charity can read how grateful we are for all of their support.

Freddie has changed somewhat since the above picture was taken...

What a cheeky monkey! This was him on Mothers Day.

Saturday 17th March 2012

Hey,

Freddie has had a couple of 'firsts' recently!
He went in a highchair for the first time when we went to Blackpool and now he's really getting good at sitting in his chair at home and having some din dins!

We also took him swimming properly (in his little swim seat) for the first time last week and he seemed to enjoy the experience. He wasn't in the pool for very long because he was getting tired and ready for a nap but he seemed to like the sensation of the water. His brother certainly enjoyed himself - an hour later and Samuel was still in the pool!

This week has also seen the first of what I'm sure is many opportunities to put Freddie in a silly hat so we can laugh at him when he's older! Actually I think he's looks like a rather cute mini farmer!

Freddie's first trip to the seaside! 10-11th March 2012

Freddie has experienced his first trip to the good old British seaside!
We've had a fab, fun-filled weekend in Blackpool:

All of us on the beach!

We met up with our friends Esther and Daniel (Colin was working unfortunately and because I told Samuel he sometimes works out at sea he now thinks he's a pirate!)

We got to have a tour of the RNLI lifeboat station:

Life boat man Samuel!

Trying out one of the rescue boats!

Freddie was a good boy and enjoyed watching his brother and his friend playing on the arcades and going on the rides. He definitely knew he wasn't sleeping in his own room though as we had a bit of a disturbed night with him at the hotel!
We definitely think teeth are on the way because he has been a bit grizzly lately and there has been lots of drool and the occasional rosey cheek!

One night away and the washing pile is overflowing  so I keep it short and sweet and leave you with a couple more photos...

Samuel posing in front of the tower.

Lots of fun on the rides!

I love these pictures. Samuel looking nice and happy standing in front of the jolly pirate with his dad after filling our tummies in the pirate pub....

...Look at the freaky pirates head, fair to say Samuel was not prepared for the pirate turning round and shouting. Check out the change in Samuel's expression!

Saturday 3rd March 2012

Little Freddie is not so little anymore!!

He weighed in at sixteen pounds and four ounces at clinic on Thursday. What a whopper! The health visitor said it definitely looks like he has had another growth spurt because he has jumped up to in between the fiftieth and seventy-fifth centile lines on the growth chart for his corrected age.

He is going well with his weaning and is enjoying porridge in the morning and veggies in the afternoon. I have discussed a plan to increase what he is having with the health visitor. He's going to start on three meals next week then after that we'll introduce a bit of yogurt and then the week after try a bit of cheese and meats. He'll be on steak and chips come summer!

At the minute Freddie is also off the colief drops. He has been off them for a few days and seems to be doing OK. He was griping a little yesterday but not bad enough to start them up again. The health visitor has said that often babies that have been on colief for a while are OK for a short time when they come off but then they have to go back on them again so we'll just wait and see how Freddie gets on. We prefer him to not be on them mostly because it means his digestive system is stronger but also because they cost nearly twelve pounds for a tiny bottle that only lasts a couple of weeks and he has been on them for about four months! I calculate that at a cost of just under one hundred pounds just for colief drops! Its a good job he's cute! Ha.

Little flag wave moment here......Freddie actually slept through the night for the first time ever! Thursday night was the first time in six months both boys slept all the way through! Hurray. Its only a little flag wave though because last night Freddie had a full feed at one am. Maybe Thursday night was just a fluke but its progress!

No new Freddie pictures which I will remedy this weekend so I leave you with a picture of a rather mean looking pirate....
